Follow The Silk Road To Korea
My wife was too lazy to cook dinner this evening and we decided to eat out. I have cravings for Jajangmyeon (noodles in a thickened black bean sauce with pork and vegetables) and went online to search for a Korean restaurant that has it. Apparently, not many do and only a handful has it. That’s how I discovered Silk Road, a Korean restaurant in Carnegie, located just a short stroll from my dwelling.
We ordered the following:
- Zha-jang myum / Jajangmyeon (noodles in a thickened black bean sauce with pork and vegetables)
- Rice with stir fried pork and potato noodles
While waiting for our food to arrive, we see waves and wave of patrons coming in. Most of them are Korean and when you saw this happening, I was confident that the food is going to be good since this Korean restaurant has mostly Korean patrons.
When our food finally arrived, that was the point where my mouth could not stop feeding on the dishes we ordered. Our orders were simple but yet so delicious. I am not sure how authentic the Korean food here is as I have never been to South Korea before but with the taste and the Korean crowd patronising Silk Road, I am pretty sure it is. The serving portion is decent and not overly large for under AUD15 per dish.
We will definitely return for more to satisfy our cravings for Korean dishes.
